A tale of two sisters: 6.5 years ago, at the age of 41, I learned I had breast cancer. 9 years ago, at the age of 35, my sister Lauri learned that she had breast cancer. Last year Lauri lost the battle to this disease. I feel personally connected to the Komen story of one sister making a promise to another. It's my hope that Lauri's daughters will live in a world that doesn't know breast cancer.
